| Typical weather in Berlin is a mixture of Western Europe's moderate maritime climate, and the rather tougher continental climate, typical of Eastern Europe, being very similar to the Netherlands', but a bit further away from the sea. In summer, when days are long, temperatures tend to stabilise, and the city enjoys spectacular sunshine and warm temperatures, reaching daytime temperatures that exceed 30ºC, particularly in July and August. Winters in contrast are cold and damp, but rarely extreme. Snowfall is common but rarely causes inconvenience, and temperatures descend to 0ºC or just below freezing. Rain can fall all year round June and August being the wettest months, and the driest usually October and February. However, on average, there is only one day per month without sunshine in Berlin, which makes it an ideal and pleasant city to visit anytime! |
