River Spree

Berlin ’s River Spree cuts through the city and some of the most important buildings in the city line its banks. The Museum Island is surrounded by this river and is the site of Berlin’s most important museums such as the site of the Old Museum, New Museum, Old National Gallery, and Pergamon museum to name a few. Other buildings on the Spree include Berlin ’s Schloss Charlottenburg, Palace of the Republic, and Nikolaivertel. Parks like the Tiergarten, Treptower Park and Royal Park are also great places to stroll along its banks. There are also several bars and clubs which line it, with outdoor seating in the summertime. Boat tours are also a great way to get to know Berlin - from the water.
