Chancellery
Chancellery

Nicknamed Waschmaschine, or washing-machine, the German Chancellery (Bundeskanzleramt) is where the office of the Chancellor, or head of the German government, is located. From 1949 to 1999, the Chancellery was located along with the rest of the German administration in Bonn . This building is postmodern, with some elements of modern style. With 12,000 m2, it is one of the largest government buildings around and is 8 times the size of the white house. It is located in the same grassy quadrangle as the Reichstag.
