The Brandenburger Tor, or Brandenburg Gate in English, was designed by Carl Gotthard and built from 1778 to 1791. The representation of Victoria crowning the gate was originally a symbol of peace. In 1989, the gate became a scene of a great celebration with the fall of the wall.
