Botanical garden
 The Berlin Botanical Garden (in German, Botanischer Garten und Botanisches Museum Berlin-Dahlem) is one of the most important gardens of this kind in the world, occupying 43 hectares with over 22,000 different species of plants. Built at the turn of the XX Century, the garden is located in Steglitz-Zehlendorf, specifically in the Dahlem neighbourhood.Today it serves as a place of study and belongs to the Free University of Berlin. It includes a Botanical Museum and a large library. Several greenhouses are home to cacti or exotic orchids and more. It has the largest greenhouse in the world, the Great Pavilion (Das Große Tropenhaus) which is 25m high and is steel with glass maintaining a constant temperature of 30ºC. |
