Berlin bar, restaurant & club guide > Restaurants in Berlin
Berlin, being as big as it is, makes hopping from one neighbourhood to another a bit time consuming, but fortunately, it’s completely unnecessary to move about for dinner as every area of the city has its own special charm, small centre and numerous excellent restaurants. This goes the same for bars and clubs. Mitte has an extremely varied international cuisine from Japanese to Italian to Thai to Kosher. Alexanderplatz has fewer options, but offers traditional German food, something every tourist must try. Prenzlauerberg’s small and cheap cafes are slowly being substituted for more upscale restaurants, so take advantage while it’s still affordable. Friedrichshain is full of young people, so the restaurants here have prices to match their wallets. In Kreutzberg you can enjoy many different kinds of Middle Eastern food, mainly Turkish as the neighbourhood is also known as “Little Ankara”. Schöneberg is Frühstück-land (translation: breakfast land): here natives know how to enjoy a hearty and long-lasting breakfast.
