Intervarken: 37 warm large-size single and double rooms set on 4 floors, with colour TV. Modern clean separate washing / toilet facility within a few steps from any room. The location is quiet because the pension is set back off a closed yard off from the street by large doors. This is a fairly quiet district and early morning traffic hardly audible. Pleasant church bells can be heard on Sunday mornings. English spoken and free map of Berlin is useful. Tramway transport is outside. Internet, clothes cleaning and supermarket shops are close to the pension. If preferred, walking to the centre of town takes 20-30 minutes. Keep in touch with the pension by phone on arrival if you are running late as the outside security door will be shut at the times shown on the web site. So be warned! Once booked in then you have 24 hour access. Remember that Germany is one hour ahead for most times of the year, so don't get caught out by length of flight. Staff are availbel if you tell them. Safe, warm, and quiet. Intervarken is not full of kids, it's a room based pension with reception only between 8am and 5pm. Breakfast is available which needs booking in advance, but I found this relatively expensive if you're on a tight budget. If you are arriving by air you will find the airport tourist information desk girls really helpful especially to get you on your way if you are a first timer in Berlin like me. Comoda la posizione, molto pulito, non c'è l'asciugacapelli, non lasciarsi ingannare dal cortile poco accogliente.

L'hôtel est plutôt bien situé et très propre. Le prix est tout à fait correct. Bon, les matelas ne sont pas franchement bons mais ce n'est pas grave. Un seul problème de taille est à noter : le weekend, il y a la moitié des chambre dans lesquelles il est impossible de dormir car il doit y avoir une boîte sur le mur de droite et les basses résonnent toute la nuit. Il faut donc choisir le couloir de gauche le weekend!!!

very affordable lodging solution, 20 minutes walking from Alexanderpl. But there is only 1 collective shower and toilet for numerous rooms, you hear very well your neighbours next door and on saturday nights, you can hear the sound of a nightclub nearby...
